Local authorities have decided to ban store signs in the Latin alphabet. Previously, it was assumed that a small sign * with the Cyrillic alphabet indicating the correct pronunciation of the name would suffice.

To be honest, I don't really care what script the sign is in. The problem with Latin is that it doesn't explain how to read the name, and the problem with Cyrillic is that it's ugly no matter how you play with fonts.

But the fact that businesses will have to redesign their signs at their own expense, that's a bad thing.
