One of the main aspects I still wonder about is nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7

Is anyone willing to build a Nostr media uploader without the crappy TOS?

Read about protocol level media uploader before..

Or is nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 willing to look into this issue.

Building a content strategy for anyone that is willing to use Nostr while the media uploader behind these client has the legal rights sell, duplicate etc. all their content creations will just not fit with what Nostr actually stands for in my humble opinion.

It just like what nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m said with BlueSky. A repeat of past that if potential not changed could mean irreversible brand damage to Nostr as a brand within the Freedom Tech sphere.

Hope to see it change asap..

What part of the ToS do you find an issue with?

The specific part is:

‘You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license (with the right to sublicense) to host, store, transfer, display, adapt, perform, reproduce, modify, translate, and distribute your User Content (in whole or in part) in any media formats and through any media channels (now known or hereafter developed). You understand that we will not pay you for any use of your Images and that your Images will be made available to the public for their use without providing you attribution or compensation. ‘

I think it is reasonable to see a change in how this non-exclusive royalty-free license is being executed currently within the use of non-fungible tokens to store I.P. rights.

And inherently benefit the Bitcoin ecosystem itself.

Let me look into this.. We copied 90% of this word for word from the Imagur ToS.

Basically we can’t be liable for anything anyone does (including us) to media uploaded. For example, if someone uploads a travel pic or meme, and we reuse it, create a ‘Travel meme’ or ‘modify uploaded memes whatever, this can’t be held against us. We have a ‘Free View’ gallery for paid account users that allow paying users to see all free media ever uploaded. Making money from that gallery or paying users viewing or using that gallery should not be held against us. This is all we are trying to say.. Of course this does not apply to users with paid accts.. I will investigate.
