I only have two, but if you give them agency and responsibility, they are a joy to be around, and actually helpful.
My kids have FAR more freedom than a lot of their peers, but they know their responsibilities, and I let them make decisions on their own.
Most parents are too afraid to give their kids the freedom. It’s not their fault inherently, when all we do is project danger and fear as a society.
