I need to use Bisq more than I do. We just need easier on-ramps for fiat.

Not many private ways to pay besides cash by mail or in person. Strike may be the most easiest though

Correct, Strike is KYC along with all other US, at least, payments besides cash

strike has an option to send dollars to an address. they send bitcoin, but your account never touches it. and they don't know who you're sending it to or why.

correct. there is no on-chain connection and strike doesn't know, unless it happens to be a fed a there is a subpoena, however that is probably not very likely with small amounts...but who knows really

The biggest risk for normal folks is maybe getting accused of tax evasion, or something simliar, somewhere down the line when the information is inevitably collected and processed.

How much of a premium do you typically pay on these services? This is next on my list after setting up non-custodial lightning channels.

3% to 8%. Depends on the sellers of course and what the buyers are willing to pay

I'd say on average about 5%. The premium is worth it for those that value privacy of their sats.

Been yesterday and today only thinking around this and now I see this note 🤟🏻

Also ATM should be an option right? meaning, at least where I live, i found out that up to 995€ there’s no kyc requirements, but still need to go there and check this out…

You can get lower 2-3% if you are the taker and create the order, but have to be a little patient.

Have you guys used all of the services listed? I’m in the States. Is there one I should start with based on geographic location and ease of use?

Bisq and Robosats are the ones I've personally used. I have friends that have used the others and I see them talked about often.

Maybe worth mentioning as well, that if someone is joining/mixing/etc from a KYC stack to gain privacy, even if done correctly, the 3rd party still knows they at one point owned X amount. Ideally best in theory if one could stack with no kyc at all. But we can’t let perfection be the enemy of progress.

Absolutely. i.e. If I buy from Fold, Swan, etc. a record of my transaction still exists, no matter how much I mix those sats. I can't get rid of that initial purchase information.

How many more decades do we have to worry about this? I’m really getting tired of buying new boats 🛥️

Can you still get insurance after all those accidents? I lost my coverage after #2

thankfully my father, mother, uncle, grandmother, cousin, and wife are all in insurance. i have plenty of options.
