What's crazy is physical limits are being reached on a quantum level.
The smallest transistor is around 5nm, which is 100x smaller than the wavelength of visible light.
Things are going to have to go 3D, like real estate and adding floors. If you can't cram more transistors in a certain area, I guess you have to start stacking them.
