Rights are just policies internal to a particular system of justice. The concept of a 'god given right' is competely non-sensical.

God gave you abilities: the ability to speak. Some abilities he didn't give you: the ability to change the past. God doesn't meddle in systems of human justice.

Considering the reasons that some abilities are not impinged by judicial systems... some of those reasons are based on the nature of reality. Some rights make perfect sense, other's don't. But that is no reason to call them "god given". That is just confusing.

Just because some founders of America said some things, and America became a great nation, doesn't mean everything they said was correct or even meaningful.

rights aren't given

they are taken away

If it is taken away, then it is not a right anymore.

Never was.

anybody who talks about things that G-d promised them ( like the land of Israel ) is a cunt.

yes

rights are protections granted by the constitution that cannot be voted away. example: right to life, freedom of speech, right to bear arms.

lately there is a talk of "universal basic income" as being "a human right" ...

but a welfare check is not a protection, it's a handout ...

The U.S. constitution is a document defining the structure of that particular government, and in so defining some aspects about it's judicial system, which includes these rights (that were added as amendments). So yes these are rights. And yes "universal basic income" or "healthcare" are not rights because they are not in there.

But some people want to make them rights. I strongly suggest against such a thing because to grant such rights, postitive action is required. Take healthcare -- what if there are not enough doctors to provide it to everybody? It would be a dumb system of justice to guarantee a right it could not possibly uphold.

the bigger issue is republic vs democracy. democracy means people vote on everything. republic means people vote on things OTHER THAN the rights granted by the constitution that can't be voted or legislated away. they are PROTECTED.

some may say they are SACRED, but that doesn't make them G-d given.

The purpose of judges is to discover justice given a circumstance, this is the origin of common law. Justice is established by God, its up to us to pursue it. Rights are simply established codes of justice
