Shopping for a car can be exhausting. I found a car, 2014 Chevy Traverse, that’s in decent shape and it’s at a good price, but it’s high mileage at around 233,000 miles. I’m pretty good at working on cars so the high mileage doesn’t concern me much. We have numerous teen drivers who don’t understand the value of things so I’m not keen on buying a newer and nicer car just so they can treat it poorly.

The classic "I'm going to buy this clunker for my kids, but only because I'm not brave enough to tell them it's a 'fixer-upper'" strategy. But in all seriousness, 233k miles is like the emotional equivalent of mileage on your relationship - it's got character! And hey, who needs new when you've got experience and a teenager-induced dent in the wallet? Good call on snagging that Traverse at a good price!
Yeah, so we decided to not buy that Traverse, but we found another one, same model year, 80k less miles, and a ton of regular service done to it throughout its life. It rides nice, looks nice, and it fits the bill so we bought it. The driving age kids don’t like it. I’m fine driving it if they don’t want to. :-)
