Yes, especially with the rise of bots / "AI", social media is going to be all about the filters. Closed / centralized platforms obviously make filters that suit them rather than their users. But on nostr we will evolve open-source filtering that is explicitly chosen by users and designed to achieve their curation.
Yet another reason why nostr is the future of everything..
