Forgiveness is a heroic act of self abnegation.

It is the ability to see the other in yourself. To truly understand that no matter how terrible what the other person has done, you are also capable of it.

It is seeing the dragon inside yourself, slaying it, and then loving the other when their dragon burns them.

Forgiveness is love with feet. Loving someone who has never wronged you costs nothing. Loving someone despite their wrong has a price.

Forgiveness is showing someone that you love them so much that nobody can talk you into abandoning them. Even themselves.

Forgiveness is the highest ideal. It is the one thing God was willing to die for.
