Everyone. All of them are making money off of the war, including the ones working within Palestine and Israel. There is no political motivation, from any side, to end the war.

It's the same in Ukraine. Everyone on both sides is making bank and there is no motivation to end it.

War becomes perpetual because of this ramping-up and entrenchment effect of a war economy. It usually only ends when one economy gets so flattened that it can't continue to produce or import weaponry. Just have to look at Somalia or Afghanistan or Syria or wherever, to see that this can go on and on and on...

and the propaganda machine keeps the people pacified towards continuing it forever, while they start to more and more notice that everything costs more. but that's just a coinkidink.

People also just get bored of the topic. There's always a new war, someplace.

Palestine is a classic example of outsiders goading an ethnic minority into a hopeless war and then abandoning them and "supporting" them by sending heart emojis on Twitter and concern-trolling at left-wing campus demos.

Palestine was a political fad and it's already going out of style. It was a dumb idea. Someone should have explained to them, what a dumb idea it is, but nobody actually cared about them. They're just a political mascot that people wave around to look cool. The national flag equivalent of a Che Guevara t-shirt.

And soon the news will move on and they will be left with the rubble, where their cities used to be, and their shitty government and begging for food and medicine and clean water from the very people they started a war against.

Same as the Germans did. Same damn idiocy. Same damn motivation. Same damn starvation. Same damn rubble.

People never learn: aggressive wars do not solve your problems. They just give you bigger problems.

We Germans do know all about these fun little war parties. No, we do not recommend you try them at home.

Key difference:

For Palestinians arming themselves in self-defense, profit is successful self-defense, and potentially justice.

For genocidal arms manufacturers, profit is printing more money than you spend, until suddenly, at an older, wiser age, profit is getting away with your war crimes.

Everyone always claims self-defense. It's an irrelevant argument.

You always start off making just enough for your own situation, but economies of scale make it easy to run up production, and then you start specializing and exporting. And exporting the arms helps you finance your war, so it's a vicious cycle, and you just keep doubling-down.

You literally just said self-defense is an irrelevant argument

How do you sleep at night?

Are you claiming that it is relevant? It's a completely subjective argument based largely upon feels and sliding time scales.

The Other Side ™️ is always the aggressor and the arguments usually go back hundreds or even thousands of years.

I am claiming Palestine was the aggressor and Israel is defending itself. You would claim the opposite. We are both right. We are also both wrong.

That is why wars are stupid and generally to be avoided.

i wish i never commented on that stupid shit this morning

Also, don't bother calling it genocide. I'm not someone attending Womens' Studies classes at Yale, and learning to make vulva-shaped ashtrays out of organic, fair-trade clay, while sipping green smoothies and fretting over how life is unfair and we need to be nicer to the little brown people.

I am a serious person from a military background and this is a conversation about strategic thinking.

The Palestinians would have been better off talking about their retarded plans with someone shrewd like me, rather than basking in the light of the Decadent Bored Overemotional Midwits, but they were too silly to do that, which is why they quickly got their ass handed to them and people are now making plans to turn their homeland into a beach resort.

Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.

I hate to say this but I feel like your IQ might be low enough to be one of those people that's been saying Hamas should release the hostages ever since Oct 7
