Satoshi might’ve walked away because the peer-to-peer element never took off. At the time, Bitcoin looked like it was becoming just digital gold. That may have felt like a dead end—or at least, not the revolution he envisioned.

A real Bitcoin standard means using it for all three functions of money: store of value, unit of account, and medium of exchange.

Two of those are mostly passive. But using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange is an active choice. It’s what actually pushes Bitcoin forward.

Being able to buy and sell what you need with Bitcoin?

That’s what winning looks like.

That’s the original digital cash vision—and until you can live your life on Bitcoin, you haven’t really exited the matrix.

Use Bitcoin however the hell you want. No one gets to tell you how to spend your money.

Just don’t miss this:

Every peer-to-peer transaction moves us closer to killing fiat.

Closer to making the old system irrelevant.

It's not about volume. It's about direction.

Bitcoin sales mean so much more than any others

One egg at a time. Well, a dozen at a time. But I do need to work harder on the purchasing side.

How do we get around the block size problem? Only so many transactions can happen on chain. Use a 2nd layer, I’m back to trusting the matrix.

These things are all required: store of value, unit of account, and medium of exchange. Store of value is the first element. Bitcoin has made and continues to make huge progress in that arena. But, many normies are still not convinced. Give it time. It is coming. Unit of account requires increasing levels of education. Continually show and explain fiat debasement to normies. Most still don't understand it even apart from Bitcoin. Unit of Account is perhaps the most important function. We need honest weights and measures so humanity can deal freely and honestly with each other. The medium of exchange continues to grow, but the value and tech has to be their first along with overcoming the cultural and legal (tax) hurdles. In the so-called "first world" countries medium of exchange is a harder sell. Because this need is already widely met. The situation is different in so call "third world" countries. All the elements work in unison and have different barriers. All must be and are present. Keep spreading the word. They are coming.

Yes please. Using the network in all aspects of life. Save, invest, spend, replace, earn, mine 🧡🗽

I think he left because WikiLeaks started taking Bitcoin and he anticipated some heat from govt.

Gavin Andreesen agreed to attend some conference with the CIA, also, at the same time. I'm pretty sure that was the trigger for his exit.
