I will immediately buy BTC with my CBDC stimi (if it's not banned). Then, immediately self-custody it.
I'd think by definition cbdc would be coupon-like and holders won't be able to buy what they want freely already, let alone buy investments with it, which BTC would be considered by the policy makers.
Also likely not able to transfer it to other people. CBDCs will most likely not be fungible.
What % of population globally are dependent on state pension. Makes me think that saving the grandma slogan wasn't just for Covid.
It's not an individual choice. What do you do if your economic peers are all bought into CBDCs ?

Government is not going to let people opt out via CBDC, the whole point is to keep the broken money printing system going along with a huge scoop of control.
