I don’t think Primal has control over this. This is an apple store thing. The markup must be wild compared to buying on an exchange or a dex like bisq
Heyo nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg i tried buying sats using Apple Pay, and I had to pay GST on it? Is that something you can control or an Apple thing? because I don’t think I need to be paying tax to buy sats

Makes sense. Apple tax hits again 😔
Just to clarify, they have control over the % they add on top of the price, not on the GST
Interestingly, I get a better rate from primal than the actual exchange rate. For example, 6 cad gives 4309 sats, and the actual exchange rate is closer to 4250 sats. What I did not realize was there would be GST on this hahah.

Apple doesn’t add their 20% ? Not even at checkout?
Nope, I would assume the 6$ includes the 20% apple tax, but then the exchange rate seems impossible.

On Bisq I routinely buy with NEGATIVE premiums even. So, under price market (even after factoring in network and exchange fees, if the purchase is big enough). And no KYC. Why wouldn't people use this, it baffles me.
Bisq is amazing. Newcomers not using it I can understand. For the rest, I don’t get why purchasing KYC is even an option
I mean even if you're OK buying KYC-tainted BTC. Why would anyone use a wallet or apps or some such?
If you don't mind being doxxed, buy from an CEX and at least save on premiums and fees and get the "real" price. I just don't get it.
