This day has a very different meaning for me after Satoshi. Statist and central planners did well to co-opt the term government in order to obscure the anarchist nature of our founding fathers.

In their day government was anarchy, it was a middle finger to the crown and the pope. Rules governed by nature, no rulers. We hold these rules to be self-evident, that all men are created equal in rights, and these rights cannot be voted away.

This same desire for independence unites us today as bitcoiners meeting together in our free cities of nostr.

All men are created equal except the slaves they owned. They’re also anarchists except for the fact that they immediately established a government after gaining independence. A lot of hypocrisy when you peel back the onion.

Very true, I don't think we will ever get to a point of no rulers, too many people lack the will or strength to fight for it, or because they benefit from it. Just look at how many people today are fine with tax slavery on both sides. At best we can make it an option for whoever does want that freedom and ensure that the choice to be free is there.

I agree but I think some people will be free. The ones that put in the work to gain it.
