It's kind of a difficult question to answer imma just wing it as best as I can.

Hermès is the gold standard because they've scaled the right way. They scaled while keeping the traditional craft alive. To explain this, you must understand that Hermès does not simply have drone workers. They breed artisans. Those artisans do not simply learn to do a task but to practice the craft. An Hermès artisan makes a good from start to finish. This keeps the "savoir-faire" alive and I believe it is very important. There is virtue in this. Also almost everything is hand stitch using linen. Again, keeping the tradition alive.

So then what is the Bitcoin standard?

As good as it may be, Hermès is a commercial brand. Scaling that much has draw backs. Both in personalization and leather choices. They must use leathers that can be mass produced and standardized as much as possible. This often mean applying a coat of plastic on top of the leather. This dosen't mean it's bad leather at all but a leather purist prefers to touch the actual leather. The Bitcoin standard os to have your own artisan that works at smaller scale with more scarce and exotic leathers. One that can make something for you. Something that is truly hard. Something that is Bitcoin.
