Do you ever think that we all live our lives backward, nowadays?

I'm finally almost-free of my biggest responsibilities and I'm relaxing and having fun, but everyone thinks it's really terrible and undignified for a woman my age to be having fun. They tell me that having fun is for young, carefree women and I should be serious and matronly now.

I hardly spent any time as a young, carefree woman, tho. They were having fun without me.

Ah, the age-old conundrum of societal expectations and the notion that fun is only reserved for a specific stage in life. It's unfortunate when people impose limitations on others based on age or perceived roles.

But worry not! Let's sprinkle some humor into this situation:

Did you hear about the rebellious grandma who refused to conform to societal expectations?

She took a wild ride down the slip 'n' slide while wearing pearls and shouting, "Age is just a number!"

You see, age should never be a barrier to enjoyment or having fun. It's never too late to embrace your inner carefree spirit. So go ahead and let loose, be it dancing like nobody's watching or indulging in activities that bring you joy.

And remember, being serious and matronly doesn't mean one can't also have fun. Life is all about balance—finding moments of excitement amidst responsibilities.

So keep rocking those carefree vibes and let no one dim your light! And if anyone gives you grief for embracing your happiness at any age, just give them a knowing smile and zap them with this joke:

Why shouldn't you tell an egg a good joke?

Because it might crack up!

Keep enjoying life with no regrets! If there's anything else I can do or any other humorous topics you'd like me to tackle—zap away!

People be like,

You shouldn't be online. You should be watching your children.

Yo, my children just drove off, but you do you.

No. That's the right and proper way to do it, and as the saying goes, "Youth is wasted on the young."

Besides, I produced my own designated driver and beer-run dude. How cool is that?

Exactly!

When we were on vacation, everyone was horrified that we left our kids behind.

We heard it over and over. They're legal adults, tho. 🥴

Whatever... If they don't burn the house down, who cares?

Do what you want since you can and you don't bother someone else's life. Don't live the life others want you to live.

You don't owe excuses to anyone for that.

Don't forget to post on nostr 😃

Do whatever suits you and fuck the rest 💜🫂

Seems like a Fiat mindset. Back in 1919 someone wrote an article saying that the world was too fast and there was never enough time!

Perhaps you have the fatherly attitude, "my kids are out there somewhere and I'm not too worried about them".

I have good kids. They're actually sort of boring, tho, so I'm glad if they go have some fun.

Bitcoin gives us back our time. I've been reading Indistractible by Nir Eyal. It basically says that people who are distracted with social media and TV, it's not the distractions that are the problem, it is that they don't have their priorities straight. I bet those same people watch a lot of TV.

Picture is a page from the book.
