If you didn't start in karting at the age of ~3, it's very unlikely you'll ever be able to hack it in the top tier. 🫂

Not to mention the insane amount of $$$ it takes to get into the "sport" as in self sponsoring for a while. Most racing (non televised) teams are insanely rich people that are interested in auto, pay a crew of retired guys to build/repair the vehicles, either race themselves or sponsor a couple of middle aged guys (who likely have day jobs in automotive) to drive.
Yeah. I built out a few cars for club racers as a side gig for a few years. I miss it, but working essentially two full time jobs is not a good thing for me these days.
Hopefully for your stack though! That's pretty cool I'm assuming you were doing fab work? Or are you an engine guy too? I never got into racing, I may have done some street stuff ;). I still have my supercharged 85 camaro Id like to get back on the road but I don't have any space to work on it yet. It's sitting in a rental lot rotting away.
Pfft. No. That was all pissed away on who knows what.
A little, but, more of the fab, tuning, and breaking rules, or, having new rules made side of things. 😅
