Anyone played with Strava heatmaps? They’re really fun to use as a way of seeing a human map.

Apparently these maps are useful to urban planners too. Nice to see an entirely wholesome use of crowd sourced user data.

I used them constantly. Not strava, but a heatmap leyer on the map in the [Alpinequest](https://alpinequest.net) app. If you're into topo maps and Android, that's the only app you'll need for the outdoor navigation. 🧭

It's not so easy to use but that's because there's so much options to set up.

Heatmaps saved me many times especially in winter times when many trails are covered with snow.

They're great for finding local running routes.

Try https://wandrer.earth/ much more fun can upload it to your device and see the road's you not travelled on you bike computer or watch screen

Ooh! Thanks for sharing! I didn't know that one.

I only use https://citystrides.com The focus is completing a street, so either run, walk, cycle.

Definitely a good addition for a new fitness game, since I've completed my area in City Strides already, LOL.

Thanks I'll give this a try

I use this! I don’t bike a lot, as st. louis city is so scary to bike in as of now, but it has helped me a lot.

but it helped me discover a bike path i didn’t know about, which is connected to our soccer stadium!

I use it quite regular when I’m building a route 🚴🏻‍♂️ I’m a Strava premium user
