Ok, I’ve got an unused android tablet that I forgot the PIN code to and had to wipe, so I’m ready to experiment with a FOSS OS.
CalyxOS
or
GrapheneOS
Which one?
Graphene currently only works on unlocked Pixels. That said, I am a Graphene fan.

Ahh, got to know. Lol, I didn’t even know enough about either OS….
Calyx may work. You will need to look into their requirements. I'm not as familiar with them so cannot speak to the quality, robustness, or UX of the OS.
