If you listen to recordings of statesmen from the early 1900s, you quickly realize how far the US has fallen. The country went from having a freedom loving soul to “how can we deny the most freedoms the fastest”. It feels like there’s actual envy of a communist ways of doing things. People have been warning of this as far back as a century ago that if you side with everyone, you lose your identity to mediocrity.
