If you listen to recordings of statesmen from the early 1900s, you quickly realize how far the US has fallen. The country went from having a freedom loving soul to “how can we deny the most freedoms the fastest”. It feels like there’s actual envy of a communist ways of doing things. People have been warning of this as far back as a century ago that if you side with everyone, you lose your identity to mediocrity.

I feel that way just from watching television interviews before the 1980s vs today.

It’s easier to hide behind a collective than it is to fight for your independence. I struggle with this a lot when it comes to education in the Hispanic community, which has gone through a cultural shift toward anti American pessimism.

In my view the root of this struggle is the drug war that has lasted for 50 years and was effectively launched as a response to the civil rights movement. Sometimes the fight for freedom takes a wrong turn, but I can see where the justifications rest.

Also watch any interview with any diplomat from any of the "evil" countries like Russia/China/Iran and compare this to American diplomats.

Where are these recordings?

Library of Congress or probably YouTube too

Facts my guy; it’s not just statesmen either, a majority of the population have become scared timid sheep willing to sacrifice all their freedoms for the illusion of safety. Unfortunately there’s no unwinding it all without facing some truly hard times.

I don't think it is possible to genuinely side wih everybody just like I don't think it is possible to genuinely lie to oneself.
