I really try to avoid Walmart but tonight I needed a few things that required a trip. The cashier asked the older man behind me “how are you?” And he replied “fantastic!” I loved his enthusiasm and looked back and smiled at him. I noticed he was purchasing two gigantic chocolate bars and I said to him “chocolate!! you must really be having a fantastic day.” He said “I am and I must say you are really pretty.” I smiled and said “thank you.” He said “now I’m not hitting on you but I really think you are beautiful and you look like a really nice person too.” I thanked him again. He said “and I really hope your husband appreciates you.” I said “I’m working on that part.. I’m not married yet.” He said “good for you, I remember being young once.” Then we wished each other a good evening.

How sweet it is to receive compliments. You never know how a little conversation can put a smile on someone’s face and a bounce in their step.
