For the first time in my life I knew someone personally that committed suicide. It happened early this week.

Tonight, we just got back from a church service where we were grieving for him, this beautiful, smart, and kind 18 year old young man who had recently graduated high school and had plans to start college in the fall.

I’ve heard it said before that you don’t ever know what someone is going through, and it’s so true, this young man had been struggling with anxiety and depression for years.

I often would see him and make small talk to let him know that he was seen, and so did many others, but sadly it wasn’t enough to prevent this tragedy from happening.

We can’t do life alone, and we’re going to continue to love and support each other on this journey.

May your sorrows be temporary, and your joy be eternal.
