A public square that is owned by a corporation isn't a public square, it's a mall.

Yes. Capitalism is such a bad idea….😵‍💫

De tout temps pas celui inventé au départ par nos cousins hollandais dépravé par nos cousins de l'empire britannique

Comparativement similaire

What if it's a privately own square open to public?

L'est devenu au fur des siècles

they can kick you out if they don't like what you are saying

so it's not actually public it's a propaganda outlet for the owners

always and everywhere

one of the radical things about nostr is that a true public square has arguably *never* existed

what a time to be alive

modern system n generation want FREE STUFF which they pay INDIRECTLY - Revenue has come from either physical or virtual

TAX -> public park

AD / BIZ PROFIT -> MALL

TIERED MEMBER FEE - > Public Private CLUB / Garden

Private malls are more welcoming to the public than many public malls, which are more frequently surrounded with barbed wire fencing these days.

a public square is a prison yard. it is needed because the rest of the area is inhuman.

"In their fear your forefathers gathered you too near together. And that fear shall endure a little longer. A little longer shall your city walls separate your hearths from your fields." - Gibran

Agora

or a slave training camp, or an indoctrination facility or..

..oh wait you're right!

I think that there should be many squares - many should be local to geography, interests, etc. Freedom of association is involved in choices. Describing a public square as an idea - is never what it is in reality. Allot of what Musk and others are from the point of view - self determination is a right of communities, localities or those who are effected - I think ways to resolve conflicts is important, but having imposing same on everyone - because 100,000,000 people voted one way or another; truth is for people to live in democracy - local determination is essential; groups who want to control others resources, decisions, or freedoms are inherently abusive. Political parties are a prime example of this. Musk is driven by books he read as a child, something's insightful others - humanity would survive if not ruled by a centralized galactic core - a very driven person. I would like to see expand, explore, etc .. Socialist think that they know best for everyone, I believe in private ownership local control, using technology to break interdepence - not making dependence a freeman has a plow and a mule, others have nothing and work for someone who has a monopoly of resources and power or a state which has a monopoly on resources and power. I like some of Jack's and Musk's ideas but as individuals and communities we need to think deeper and know reality is very unforgiving but can be very rewarding.

Can someone get RFK on nostr and all "smaller platforms" I think it would be a coup against the neocons and would drive them bonkers ... @jack #jack #RFK and #politics

this used to be the pinned tweet on my (now abandoned) account:

And malls are emptying out
