I have pondered this though, what is an invading nation brought greater liberty to mine (never mind the liberty lost in waging war)?
Would that be non-patriotic to see greater liberty?

This is part of my mixed feelings on nationalism. Should Iranian women defend Iran against an American takeover? Maybe the principle of freedom means more than their nation to them, and they would betray their nation and embrace freedom.
Well, it all depends on whether the enemy is actually "bringing freedom". I don't think America ever actually did that since WW2.
My thoughts indeed.
And it is hard to know if a nation is, unless your nation is so terribly riddled by fascism perhaps.
