An unarmed Palestinian was shot in the head by Israeli forces as annual protests began across Palestine marking the anniversary of the 1969 arson attack on the Al Aqsa mosque, the third most holy Islamic mosque. Video footage of the murder in Nablus showed the victim rushing to help another injured man during protests against Israeli forces before being gunned down.

Protests at the Gaza separation fence also came under fire from Israeli forces with live ammunition, and tear gas injuring at least 18 Palestinians, including journalists. 120 people were reported to have been injured in protests in the occupied West Bank according to the Red Crescent. Since January, more than 220 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces.
