I'm a chronic insomniac. Melatonin + something like Endel has honestly changed my life. I'm not a bandwagon person, but my experience with this has made a bit of a believer out of me.

It's critical to understand why you are not sleeping though. No solution fits everyone. It turned out melatonin was actually deficient in my brain. It doesn't work for everyone.

I’m able to fall asleep but find myself waking up tired and brain-fogged, more so than is normal, as if I didn’t actually get sleep at all. I’m also on low-dose antidepressants, which I intuitively feel are messing with my REM cycle. Working to get off of those now, hopefully I’ll see a change.

Will try the app you mentioned for sure.
