So what do you do now?
Have liberated myself of the Microsoft shackles completely, been 5-6 years.. It's highly liberating.

Linux.
Keeping it simple, a rolling-release distro (for latest updates, such as Arch), Gnome as the desktop environment (although you might prefer KDE which is more traditional) and an appstore.
I'm also an avid gamer, no issues.
Some distributions actually come with everything you'll need pre-configured. BazziteOS if you do gaming is a good one. Pop!_OS, while not rolling-release, is an excellent option for first-timers, gamers included.
Just pull the trigger, and throw away any misconceptions you might have. Put in the effort (An afternoon maybe? Less?), look at software alternatives if need be, and I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy it. It's reach a huge level of polish in the UX compared to years ago.
Strongly recommend, and happy to answer any questions.
As an extra, freeing oneself from Microsoft as an eco-system is also possible. There are Office alternatives that are decent at this point in time and email providers are various.
