In the USA, civil rights are privileges granted by the Federal government. They are not protected or even mentioned in any of the three organic federal constitutions.

Because "the government" grants civil rights, "the government" can also take them away (e.g., Covid19).

On the other hand ... "Inalienable Rights" are supposed to be protected by the Constitutions. They are granted by (God) "the creator" and are [thereby] lawfully protected from any government infringement.

Here is one very significant example of an Inalienable Right:

Sims v. Aherns, 271 SW 720 (1925) | "The practice of law is an occupation of common right." | "Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many Citizens, because of their respect for what appears to be law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their rights due to ignorance.”
