EXPLANATION FOR ABOVE POST: During mid 2025 I was passing thru yet another overly-challenging, and frustrating period.

Since early 2018, I've lived through a strung-out succession of unpredictably rough periods, which kept arriving in waves before I'd even had time to fully fix and then get over the effort of fixing "the previous bad patch".

Sure, life was never meant to be easy (and I know many others have been obliged to live thru something worse; esp. since 2022) but I've never experienced anything like it during several previous decades. To solve the mystery of this extended epoch, perhaps I should consult an Astrologer?? 😇

One evening, I was getting frustrated over my NOSTR Follower's Count going up a few notches, before collapsing down by 75 percent or so for no apparent reason. So the negative expressions contained in that post was just me blowing-off with muted anger mixed with some conspiratorial speculation.

The thing is, at the time I typed out some of my negative feelings, I did not know that stuff posted in NOSTR is inherently "kind-of" permanent. There's no pre-positioned "delete" option. Not even an edit button ... once a poster has committed his/her post to the linked NOSTR Relays. Clearly, I regret not studying NOSTR's small print more closely.

I have made an actual attempt to delete the offending post, but I soon hit a road-block linked to a missing NIP-09. And I simply couldn't move past it.

On the topic of NIP-09, I am currently in correspondence with the YakiHonne Team. They have always been very helpful, but this problem might be outside of their scope. But even with their assistance and intervention, the chances of getting the above post deleted (currently 6 months old, at time of this writing) from at least 3 Relays, will likely remain low.

I've certainly embarrassed myself. But we all make mistakes. Fortunately, this mistake was made online, and not in the middle of busy traffic while riding my bicycle!

24 hrs ago, I had 6 followers. Not so many eh? But a respectable number considering YakiHonne gives the impression of being a quiet corner on a quiet Nostr platform (unless you are Cheer Leader for Bitcoin Pretty Boys or the W.E.F.).

Today, I fired-up my computer to find I now have 0 followers. And I've posted nothing for the past 48 hrs (or perhaps a touch longer). So what on earth could have caused such a drastic change?

A few days earlier, and via "Messages", someone (an anonymous responder) in the YakiHonne team, confirmed my suggestion that the repeated trimming of the value in my Followers Counter was due to "Relay Problems"? But such an explanation really doesn't make sufficient sense. If it was one or more of the Relays (YakiHonne connects to only 4, while Primal is connecting to 7 or 9 Relays) then what could be the trigger? A few lines in someone's Rust Code?

Several weeks back my Followers in this account once briefly touched 9, but that was soon cut back to 4 (the number 4 has been a persistent number following the editing of my Followers Counter).

What's the chances of some Asian faggot playing around because he/she feels ideologically or religiously driven? Because it is pretty obvious that I am an enemy of both Woke ideology and Woke Ideologues, and am also not Asian.

The trends don't lie. Social Media (no matter the platform) has already become, or is fast becoming, a complete joke. Since 2022 it has all been taken over by political fanatics (mostly of the "Far Left" variety). Even Nostr will end up going the way (i.e., to the Left of 'Far Left') of Mastodon and Threads.

For the time being I am quite happy to use this platform as a personal note taker and jotter. There's actually no point in trying to attract skittish and/or effeminate 'Followers' on Social Media, including Nostr, simply because it is evident that too many of them are already mentally ill.

I have an update for you SteadyTech. I joined Nostr very recently ... on 30th November 2024. Quite oddly, it appears the Primal Client (my original choice) was having undeclared technical problems at that very same time, and for the few days that followed. A weird way to begin one's Nostr experience!

Just yesterday, I stumbled upon a post while browsing. This account posted a short complaint about Primal having been dysfunctional for the previous few days. Then suddenly I heard Primal had been fixed.

So I've checked back and I am happy to report it now works beautifully. I am zooming thru my menu items without any hiccup.

Therefore, I can now recommend BOTH YakiHonne (derived from two Japanese words) and Primal.

If you are someone who wishes to create Long-Form content, then you should create a YakiHonne account because they have made a point of providing such a resource ... a beautiful one ... which changes the view from 3 columns to 2 columns for easier writing and subsequent reading.

Primal is very popular, and there are more Users on Primal awaiting easy discovery. But why not subscribe to both??

Another client I like the look of is habla.news.

Habla is favoured by Spanish Speakers, but it's still usable by English speakers. Habla has a bolder presentation and is therefore easy to read onscreen. Like YakiHonne, it also specializes in providing enhanced views for Long-Form Content.

I am technically minded but I continue to struggle with the Client Interface regarding the wallet set-up. There's precious little guidance. It has become a daily frustration since a joined nostr about 10 days ago.

The menu feedback is awful. I struggle to understand what the Client I am using is trying to tell me whenever it offers to create a Lightning wallet for me. The address it gives keeps changing every time I log-off (it's a moving target).

Then there's the involvement of Alby 'secrets'. How many layers are there to establishing an LN Wallet on Nostr??

I already have a fixed LN address (with CoinCorner) but there is no easy way to input this simple detail into my Client.

This level of nonsense is not what I expected.

I had similar problems with Primal (desktop) having begun my Nostr journey with them. After spending 10 days trying to make it work "normally" I gave up. I am now a happy user of YakiHonne. Following a fairly recent upgrade, it looks to be the best dekstop nostr client currently available.
