How did the UK cope with 109,000 deaths by Influenza during the winter of 2017-18 ... but was unable to cope with 1,400 [alleged] deaths by COVID-19, as of 30th March 2020??

Note also that during the winter of 2017-18 there was no social distancing, no lock-downs, and no shuttered businesses.
