ya I am using Amethyst too but I'm talking about more of a optional database which you can click on the city and find other users in that city.
Currently, It's hard to find new friends on Nostr.
nobody uses that feature because you say where you are and nobody wants to say where they are, yes it is difficult to find friends and it is difficult for people to stay for a long time. these days it is difficult to find friends on the internet
Nobody uses it because Nostr is still fairly new and not many users. The users who are on Nostr at this moment seem to be much more privacy orientated.
Facebook has that type of feature and to this day many people use it. It's useful when you want to let your followers know exactly you are.
Nostr just needs more users that the around me feature will be used. I've used it.
It's difficult to find friends on the internet because the internet is very fake and it has driven away real users. The problem is too many sites allow free registration which has attracted bot farms and scammers. So now most of the time it's bots and scammers trying to scam us. The internet has become trash.
This will happen to nostr too unless setup a system of micro-payments in order to reply, follow etc
people don't have time and nostr is too scattered.

Greetings Martin. Would it be possible for you to include functional access for those of us who are using Nostr via the Web (i.e., a Browser App)??
I'm trying to keep 'smart' phones at arms length, and I note that you currently only offer Apps that run on i-Phones or Android.
