I’d be really interested to know!

If movements in classical pieces all count as the same song, they have almost all modern music beat πŸ€”

I could harp on this all week and I just may

Me too, typically I write songs that are over 4 1/2 minutes to seven minutes, but I’ve been trying make songs that are closer to under four and closer to three, however maybe this isn’t the ideal. I think whatever is a proper expression of all the ideas that are encompass by a track should be the ideal length.

There are amazing songs that are short, don’t get me wrong. I do think the constant shortening of good songs makes me want more. Like, great song, why is it less than 3:00!?!?

But then I like something and play it on repeat because I like the vibe but it doesn’t scratch the itch. 2.5 min songs are like a snack. A sugary one.

We gotta get our attention spans back!

The Velvicks Greatest Hits side B only has 3 songs on it... πŸ‘€

Dope Me 4 min 55 sec

Golden Years 8 min 28 sec

Favorite Child 6 min 32 sec https://cannabisrecords.store/products/greatest-hits-by-the-velvicks

How long were songs in 1912?

I feel like in popular recorded music, like in the 1950s, songs were typically closer to 2 1/2 minutes, but I’m not 100% sure about this. I’d have to do some research and early like in 1912 I have no idea that’s a great question.

Classical music counts 100% it might be more like a complete album different movements. However, if it’s meant to be played at once, then I think it totally counts. This is a great point.
