What matter is what you or your client wants to ACHIEVE: + #efficiency? + #resiliency? Strength the BRAND? - #cost? If you can achieve that WITHOUT innovation, that is ok. The problem is when there is no cost-effective #technology AVAILABLE to reach your goal.
