It was a fresh install, nothing but the DEs applications installed. I don't know, I used to use it right after Gnome 3 came out and for a while longer because I couldn't beat it. I used XFCE for years after that so I don't know what development happened in it, but when I tried it it was the same as it had always been interface wise, but a little bugger and heavy on the resources.
