Well said. I grew up amongst those communities. I agree that they have much to teach us. It strikes me as ironic that in many ways their approach to community, self sufficiency, and resilience now seems progressive.

The bitcoin citadel concept is basically a cypherpunk version of an Amish order. We even have deliberate technology use rules like preferring e2ee, protocols over platforms, and self hosting.

Order = Citadel

English = NPC

I'm sure other concepts map directly as well if I thought about it more.
