On the British Airways flight from LA to London yesterday, they wanted everyone to board via biometric ID. I asked if I could opt out, and the guy at the desk said, “No, it’s required.” I said, “I’m not comfortable giving my biometric ID to companies which get hacked all the time.” He said “It’s the US government that gets the data.” I told him that was even worse, and he said I could talk to his supervisor.
Supervisor said, yeah, just show your boarding pass over on the side. So I (and my family) did.
Always ask. Always opt out.
You can opt out of the body scanners as well. I always do

What do you say to opt out?
I tell them I’d like to opt out of the body scanner. They call over a female guard who asks if it’s ok to do a pat down. I answer yes to that- I haven’t tried saying no, but maybe I should try it next time 😆
I’d rather the pat down than naked scans of myself in their keeping
Will try and do so next time.
