Good morning πŸŒžπŸ«–β˜•πŸ’§

It's pomegranate season so I've made some chocolate cookies with pomegranate molasses. The recipe is a riff on a macaron recipe, so it's made with almond flour and gluten free πŸ˜‹

In Ayurveda, pomegranates are considered tridoshic - balancing to all constitutions. They are light and cooling with a primarily astringent taste (but also sweet, sour and bitter).

They are an aphrodisiac and are associated with fertility and abundance.

They are used in treating many ailments, including digestive disorders, cardiovascular conditions, anemia, bleeding piles, parasites, and fever. Their cooling and astringent properties are soothing and can relieve burning associated with ulcerative colitis, Chron's disease, etc.

Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, it's easy to see why pomegranates possess anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer properties.

In many cultures they are believed to bring good luck, ward off evil, and bring abundance and prosperity. In any case, they are delicious so go enjoy them while they're in season!
