The new upper functions perfectly with a variety of ammo. Shooting with iron sights was actually odd since it's been a long time since I've done that on an AR15. But, I can say that after a quick sight-in, I could tag steel at 200yds offhand (standing, unsupported). That brought a smile to my face.

Other observations and notes:

-A 12.5" barrel with a muzzle break is not as "punch you in the face stupid loud" as the 10.3" barrel (or is it 10.5 and 12.3? 🤷‍♂️), but it's still pretty awful. I tend to hate muzzle breaks.

-A magnified red dot is weird with astigmatism. Changing lighting conditions changed the smear of the dot. I really do prefer prism sights...

-I shot my BIL's pistol better than him and he's the type to get competitive and jealous. 🙄

-next Saturday I will hopefully be shooting a practical rifle match, so I have some prep work to do for that this week.
