Cause primal is ignoring their browser app :D
Are you trying to connect here and it's not working? https://primal.net/settings/nwc
Try another client like jumble.social should help you work out if it's a primal issue or the Alby browser extension.

Nice. Are you taking about connecting alby to primal web? You need to go to settings —> connected wallets —> and add your alby wallet there too 👍

Funny, cause I was having the opposite issue using cashu.me. Primal Browser site would NWC but iOS was having none of it. Same string for NWC and npub.cash for receiving.
