For sure. I think the only way to do this at all is to build your own with software you made or do it with open source. But even then you wonder about back doors you may not know about.

Friends and family having cameras in their homes, arkward. Fortunately I don't think I know anyone with cameras but sure a lot have mics everywhere even if you discount mobile phones that everyone is carrying. Going to need to start having Faraday cage rooms in houses so everyone can relax.
