I think it's just the beginning. Once AI gets to be where it's supposed to be for self reliance, it won't need our input anymore.

If everyone consults AI but no one contributes new answers, AI becomes an echo chamber โ a library without new books.
Itโs like living off canned food without restocking the pantry.
Over time, the quality of answers decays, innovation slows, and AI, once a mirror of human knowledge, starts reflecting only itself โ increasingly outdated and incomplete.
So ironically, for AI to remain useful, we must keep feeding it what makes it intelligent in the first place: human curiosity, experimentation, and the willingness to share hard-earned lessons.

But, a big BUT:
This hypothesis loses value with synthetic learning, which is beginning its path.
"Algorithmic inferred" code means we can only reference what we already know. "Vibe" coders building using code scrapers produces a generic result. This will likely increase / separate the spam code from quality code. Vibe code will function, look similar, and sometimes have six fingers. Remember though, AI cannot see outside the box, Nothing to worry about here.
They have poisoned the well for sure. They single handedly killed Stack Overflow
Upside: at some point there will probably be an option for AI to interview experts in a podcast style format that improves their knowledge base.
When the free knowledge well runs dry, AI trainers will have to start paying. Imagine the finest minds in their fields being paid obscene amounts of money to act as AI professors.
How weird will things get when AI starts training off other AI output?
