nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s did I see this correctly? Is you zapped a reposted note the zap goes to the original poster? #damus

yes to me that makes the most sense

What about a 80/20 split? Curation is worth something.

Incentivizing repost bots is my concern 🤔

Also a thing. This is more complicated than you would think. Looks like you have been thinking about this a bit longer 😅

Tim Apple poured cold water over experimentation on iOS by calling zaps “purchasing digital content”.

Damus Android should allow for experimentation on this frontier.

Bots usually don't get zaps as zaps are a very conscious action, but also: if the bot is useful in terms of curation and surfacing interesting content, wouldn't the bot (its author) deserve it?

Is this configured by the user or the reposter? Aren’t zaps splits defined on the note ?

That's the Amethyst zap splits, and yes, they're on the note. But you could make the repost-zap-splits configurable in the client, so I'd be zapper-preference.

You could even do bot detection and do a "don't zap bots" setting.

WoT + PoW + zaps = no bot

(not perfect of course, but you get what I mean)

Like the idea that users have a say in how this works and can cherry pick their settings.

Reposts probably shouldn't be shown unless you follow the npub reposting. ie. Not in global

Then repost bots wouldn't be a concern

I only see them when I review 1984 reports

imposter accounts use reposts from the accounts they are impersonating

True! And what is you could set this yourself in the client? Democratize the shit out of it 😉

Up to the poster

Love it.😍 #nostr keeps on surprising me.
