The most exciting thing i want to work on next in nostrdb (the heart of damus ios and android) is:

when processing giftwraps, it automatically unwraps them and stores them so they can be queried.

this will drastically simplify interactions with private notes and enable lots of cool new privacy features in damus projects:

- private likes

- private thread replies

basically anything can be private and have no metadata associated with it on the network. lots of opportunities here

Sounds pretty sick to me

that's going to be very good for private group zaps and private group payment requests😍

Private calendar events 😍

I need this for private ai convos as well (that you can share with others in the dave app!)

That will also work with forward-secret sharing like MLS or Double Ratchet 👍

yeah it covers lots of useful territory

there is a concern of storing unencrypted data at rest, i am not sure how i feel about that, but at least they can’t be broadcasted since they are rumors without a signature.

a totally private social graph (hide followers and followings) would be an excellent addition too. When you exchange phone numbers with a stranger in real life they don’t get automatic access to your phone contacts and you don’t get access to theirs either. Dont know why this option is not available on any other social media (ironically youtube is the only one that does this) Tik tok allows partial hiding of social graph. Authenticity is ruined because people make multiple instagrams to not broadcast their true followers and followings.

definitely
