I think its unappreciated just how dangerous stories are. it can lead people to believe many untrue things, which causes many societal issues.

Maybe we are biased from our days where if you didn't listen to your ancestors by the fire, then you would be eaten by wolves. I think we're over-tuned and assign a higher truth value to stories we are told.

The only way to fight this is to gain a rationalist mindset to fight back against our inherent biases (aka brain malfunctions), but rationalists seems to be on a decline these days. Asking for evidence is *not cool*, what is cool is believing every and anything people tell you 🙄

Make skepticism cool again. #lesswrong

Yea asking for evidence is pretty cool. Like when the L0la L33tz article dropped and you were non stop posting asking for evidence to verify the authenticity of the signal messages...... 🥱

Give it a break man. You aren't a rationalist. You are an extremely emotional guy.

You crash out every other week and then have a few days where you act normal again.

We dont know. She said she had video to prove it was legit and then several people asked her to add that video to the article since she mentions it in the article but she just kept saying we should trust her when I asked about it.

Obviously screenshots on their own dont prove anything since photoshop exists.

My point being Will conveniently forgets to be 'skeptical' whenever he sees something that confirms his bias. So its cringe for him to go around telling others to be skeptical and rational when he struggles to do it that much himself.
