works... hmm

Good, then my new domain name isn’t on the blacklist yet.

Looks like its more likely they are monitoring dns queries. Interesting

oh shit I opened it on this network. sorry.

Sounds like the work of a petty tyrant.

yeah probably just some pasty nocoiner network admin who hates bitcoin because he feels like he missed out

No, it’s worse. The network filtering companies (which they appear to be using) sell “bad domain lists” primarily by arguing “we have more bad domains than our competition”, so it’s all a race to the bottom to include as much stuff as possible for as little cost as possible.

In this case, I assume the blocks are provided by https://talosintelligence.com/reputation_center who has a long history of totally nonsensical blocks and when you point out an issue they fix it then remove it a week later.

Never, ever, ever deploy a network with a commercial firewall vendor’s domain blocks.

(It appears the restaurant has decided to block everything categorized as “cryptomining”, which Ime includes anything cryptocurrency related at all. If it were actually mining-related that would make sense - don’t want people mining in your restaurant lol, but TALOS Intelligence are incompetent race-to-the-bottom morons)

Interesting, it has my domain on there under that category but says “not added to blocklist”. Maybe this network is just over aggressively adding that category as a blocked category. Seems like a misconfiguration.

Clearly you’re running an unlicensed money transmitter.

They block all crypto mining ones indeed

Can’t take a chance that a busboy might be secretly running a Bitaxe in the wine cellar.

Fool should have used the walk-in.
