Practically, this is what the Romans did - provide basic staples to the poor so they weren’t hungry enough to rebel and overthrow the elites whom they vastly outnumbered.

Nowadays the poor are subsidised by the productive classes and poisonous slop is subsidised for them in the food deserts in which they live.

Bitcoiners should consider how they can bridge this divide to get the poors onside before the leftist rabble are turned against them. Rice and beans (or your local equivalent) is a small price to pay.

What does he mean by "we"? Who is "we" in his question?

I think your last paragraph is on point. How can we (bitcoiners, different "we") convince the poor that sats are valuable in the first place in "developed"/western countries? Maybe some gamification where you earn sats for doing civic tasks (as an example, removing garbage) that improve the place while underminining the gov's power? Do you have any ideas?

What is being done in El Zonte, Berlin (El Salvador), Bitcoin Ekasi or maybe Motiv in Peru might be examples of what you suggest.

Nah I think we need to go back.

People can be poor, no problems. Those people don’t get to vote on how to redistribute rich peoples money though - they have no say over anything.

Just keep the poors fed so they won’t wake up bored tomorrow and try some Revolution for brekkie.

We’ve seen how appeasement goes - it leads to mass immigration behind cheered on by the women of your society who are out of their minds on hormone replacements and think they’re going to save the world whilst they forget to have children of their own.

This idea was a defensive mechanism and should be take seriously on that dimension.

Bitcoiners doing local charity work but minus the corruption could actually win over tons of poor people to the sound money cause

Winning them to a sound money cause would be a side benefit.

Having your local community onside because they know you look out for them, so they’ll be impervious to leftism when it comes knocking in your neighbourhood looking for more wealth to parasite upon, that’s your real direct benefit.

And for the poor people, not being poisoned by the Gov subsidised slop is their direct benefit.

So it’s win-win-lose - the true mark of effective policy in the next century,

Bitcoiners win. The poor win. And the parasites lose.

Prior to food stamps, the government organized food aid directly from farmers. It was the grocery industry that fought to get in on the deal and created the monstrosity we have today.

Possibly. All I know is your entire food supply chain is some fiat oligarchies who would sooner give you throat cancer than nourish your children if they can save $0.0000023 cents per annum doing so

This is correct
