Yes, this is common, has been for decades.
However, where people go looney is they don't understand that jets flying through inversion temp layers produce evap trails, aka conn trails that we see everywhere.
These typically, likely 99%, has nothing to do with the weather experiments that are very real.
As a pilot in the copilot seat of a Honda jet recently, I got to witness them first hand. I assure you we weren't releasing chemicals.

I have always been so so about “chemtrails” as a mass thing that you can just point to in the sky every time a plane flies over for this reason. And aerosols wouldn’t have to be visible either, why would they make it so obvious?

Well the fact that geoengineering projects are happening without consent or even being open about it should be concerning, imo. Especially with the claim is that no such thing is happening and some are state sponsored.
I’m not sure why this post in particular bothers you so much. I find conspiracy theories really entertaining and despite the majority being super exaggerated and making claims that can’t be backed up, many are based on something true that caused an over correction due to a failure of trust. (ie. We’re more likely to believe something terrible about them with little need to verify if you think they are bad or untrustworthy)
