I think (feel?) that torrent is a good fit for nostr for censorship resistent media storage. Great to see this!
Hey everyone - I just published my draft of NIP-81, an idea for how to handle media and other files on nostr in a simple, queryable, and resilient way.
https://github.com/lovvtide/nips/blob/NIP-81/81.md
For those who’ve been following along, this proposal is the culmination of the work that started with nostr-torrent, (me and #[0]‘s Nostrica hackathon project)
Feedback welcome 🙏

I think so too
Is there any followup? Or no one cares rn, because existing "media silos" work well enough?
In my opinion bulding up a torrent infrastructure for nostr would make things more resilient. Instead of running separate "hosting sites" the same marvelously generous individuals would run seeding along with many other smaller seeders. And torrents are even streamable, so torrent+nostr could replace youtube and spotify.

Working on it. My proposal for the torrent stuff was merged into NIP-94 a couple days ago. We've (for the most part) achieved consensus about how files will work on nostr. Now I can focus on implementation.
You've been busy I see. Well done. Can hardly wait to see what your next update does to functionally. Looking forward to the DM feature. Also- I'll be a broken record with the request to get your constellation back up and running to hook users.
On another note, I have used Amethyst & Astral and wanted you to know that Satellite loads much faster than those two. Don't know if that's a thing or not, but I don't like waiting for the feeds to render on those other two.
That's great news, thanks a lot.
