At 35 i still don’t have a driver’s license but getting my diver’s license in 3 months time.

Don’t have to fit into the herd behaviour of “you must own a car”.

Car is a luxury.

Okay, depends on the location, but most of the time, you have other transport options as well.

So you don't have to have a car. So funny, that lots of people think that car is a necessity. No it is not.

Cheers 🍻

It is a necessity in North America (a part from the big cities) you can’t do much without a car.

In Europe, the transportation system is so good and well connected, that you don’t even need a car.

So it really depends.

💯

That is what I meant. 🫂

"Europe" is not a homogenous block, much less homogenous than the US (which itself isn't that homogenous).

If you live in a city in Europe, you generally have access to some public transportation that is actually helpful.

But many live in suburbs or villages where it's one bus in the morning and one bus in the afternoon...

In some countries, it'sa luxury not to have a car...

Where are you?

I am in Malaysia, not the best public transport network, but still doable.

Used to take the metro to work daily, which can take up to 2-4hrs of travel daily, now that i work remotely, that problem solved.

Cars cost much more here due to high taxes to protect the local automotive industry plus roads are mostly congested, sometimes worse than taking the metro.

I'm almost 40 and yet to do my driving licence. Not planning on owning a car anytime soon

Take the bus, everyone is better for it
